Bible Reading Plans for the New Year

I encourage you to make a “New Year’s Resolution” to methodically read your Bible next year. Here are some reading plans to help aid you in that effort:

Read the New Testament in a year (only 3 to 4 minutes a day, Monday – Friday only)

Read the Old Testament in a year (about 10 to 12 minutes a day)

Read the Entire Bible in a year (about 12 to 15 minutes a day)

Monthly Bible reading plans (only 3 to 4 minutes a day)

The least effective way to read the Bible is to start on page 1 and read straight through to the end. The different sections, or “books,” of the Bible are grouped by category and not so much in chronological order, so a sequential reading does not make much sense.

If this is your first time reading the Bible, we recommend starting with the New Testament. If that seems a bit overwhelming, check out the monthly reading plans. (Save the Old Testament and entire Bible plans for later.)

Peter DeHaan writes about biblical Christianity to confront status quo religion and live a life that matters. He seeks a fresh approach to following Jesus through the lens of Scripture, without the baggage of made-up traditions and meaningless practices.

Annual New Testament Bible Reading Plan

The Annual New Testament Reading Plan is now available.

Read the New Testament in a year (only 3 to 4 minutes a day, Monday – Friday only)

Other reading plans to consider, include:

Read the Old Testament in a year (about 10 to 12 minutes a day)

Read the Entire Bible in a year (about 12 to 15 minutes a day)

Or consider Monthly Bible reading plans (only 3 to 4 minutes a day)

The least effective way to read the Bible is to start on page 1 and read straight through to the end. The different sections, or “books,” of the Bible are grouped by category more so than in chronological order, so a sequential reading is somewhat disconcerting.

If this is your first time reading the Bible, we recommend starting with the New Testament. If that seems a bit overwhelming, check out the monthly reading plans. (Save the Old Testament and entire Bible plans for later.)

Annual New Testament Bible Reading Plan

If this is your first time setting an annual Bible reading goal, we recommend starting with the New Testament. The Annual New Testament Bible Reading Plan is now available.

Monthly reading plans (only 3 to 4 minutes a day)

The least effective way to read the Bible is to start on page 1 and read straight through to the end. The different sections, or “books,” of the Bible are grouped by category more so than in chronological order, so a sequential reading is somewhat disconcerting.

Top Blog Posts for 2008

I’ve been blogging for six months now, posting 120 entries.  It’s been a learning experience and an enjoyable endeavor.  I’m still not writing as quickly as I would like or as accurately and seemingly every post requires an edit or two.

My top entries so are an interesting collection:

I assumed after a post had been online for a while, that interest would die off, but that is not the case.  Older entries continue to be read, well past the date they were posted.

I’m also getting a feel for what isn’t read as much.  I ponder if I should steer towards topics that have the potential for greater appeal or stick with the eclectic topics that spark my interest.

In any regard, blogging is one way of extending publishing to the Internet.  Yes, my magazines have websites, but blogging takes it to the next level.  So whether it is in print or online, I am a dedicated publisher.
